G52 Gamesley Christmas Community Get-togetherG52 Gamesley Christmas Community Get-together : Every year in the days between Christmas and New Year, aimed at those that are alone at Christmas, families and anyone else the Gamesley community group G52 host’s a festive Christmas get together.

There’s food, games and gifts for the those over 60 and all who attend, leave with that Christmas spirit topped up.

The images from the event are mainly random, with a few staged group shoots.

Harry's First ChristmasHarry’s First Christmas : Christmas always provides a great opportunity for family photos, and especially in the case of significant ‘Christmas’ like this one, with it been my nephews first.

As can quite often by the case with kids, you can’t always guarantee exactly what they will look at and patience can be needed to get a few good photos, additionally with this set some photos have had some additional post production work done.

Santa round Gamesley

Santa round GamesleyFirst run a few years back, Santa round Gamesley, see a group of industrious locals come together to take Santa round Gamesley, in a similar way to what the mountain rescue does across the rest of Glossopdale.

It’s a mobile event with a few static photos taken at the starting point of the Bluebell, with further photos taken during the trip round the ring road. There’s also a few shots of the great Christmas lights display at the Bonney’s.

Crescent at Christmas

Crescent at ChristmasCrescent at Christmas : The Buxton Crescent is an almost unique Grade-1-listed building in the town of Buxton. Owing much in its design to the Royal Crescent in Bath, but described by the Royal Institution of British Architects as “more richly decorated and altogether more complex”, it was designed by the architect John Carr, and built for the Fifth Duke of Devonshire between 1780 and 1789

The building has been the subject of complex and lengthy negotiations with various bodies to bring together plans for its refurbishment and rejuvenation which should see works start soon, however whilst those are now expected to be close to a conclusion, the building at current is currently empty but has a various times been lighted in a similar fashion to that captured in the photos. with this year been potentially the last time (in its current state). The photo’s are a quick few images taken hand held rather than with a tripod which would have aided stability for the longer night time shots.
